Immaculate Conception Parish
was established in 1904. The school was opened six years later in September of 1910. The first principal was Miss Julia Mahoney a lay person. In 1911, the Sisters of Providence arrived at Immaculate Conception to staff the parish school. Sr. Mary Annunciata was the first Principal and Superior. Five boys and four girls received their Eighth Grade Certificates at the end of the year. The sisters taught, worked, resided and lived in the convent through 1999.
Immaculate Conception School is fully accredited by the State of Illinois and the Archdiocese of Chicago. The school serves the residents of Norwood Park a residential community on the northwest side of Chicago.
We strive to promote a personal spirituality grounded in strong Catholic doctrine and traditions. This includes daily prayer, weekly Mass, numerous, age appropriate, Christian service projects and preparation of students and parent for the reception of sacraments.
The staff develops and implements programs that consistently encourages academic excellence and foster self esteem.
